Immigration SEO Case Study: 22.3K Clicks in 6 Months

A campaign breakdown showing the problem, implementation approach, evidence and business outcome.

Strategy breakdown

What changed and why it mattered

The project needed stronger crawl efficiency, clearer service-page relevance and internal links that helped Google understand the relationship between immigration topics and high-intent enquiry pages.

1. Search intent and architecture

Commercial pages were separated from informational support topics so each URL had a clear job. Internal links then connected those pages in a way that concentrated relevance around the highest-value services.

2. Technical foundations

Crawl and indexation issues were reviewed alongside redirects, canonicals, sitemaps, page speed and template behaviour. Technical work was prioritised where it directly affected discovery, duplication or user experience.

3. Evidence and expertise

Content was improved with clearer expert context, useful detail and stronger proof rather than relying on generic keyword expansion. This is especially important in high-trust sectors where shallow pages struggle to compete sustainably.

4. Measurement

Performance was evaluated through ranking distribution, organic traffic and Search Console trends. The purpose of the campaign was compounding qualified visibility, not a temporary spike from one page.

What this case study does — and does not — prove

Results came from the combination of factors

SEO case studies are useful evidence, but they should not be treated as guarantees. Every domain starts with a different history, authority profile, technical condition and competitive landscape. The important takeaway is the method: identify the constraint, strengthen the pages that matter, build supporting relevance, improve crawl and internal links, then measure what changes.

For a new Birmingham campaign I would repeat the diagnostic process, not blindly repeat the same tactics. A local service site may need Google Business Profile and local authority work first; an ecommerce site may need indexation controls and category architecture; an established professional-services site may benefit most from content consolidation and better internal linking.

The challenge

The site had valuable commercial search demand available but was constrained by a combination of page relevance, information architecture, technical crawl efficiency and authority signals.

What I delivered

  • Single-page on-page rewrite across title, H1–H3 and semantic entities
  • Internal-link silo restructuring around immigration practice areas
  • Crawl-budget optimisation, sitemap and redirect cleanup
  • Core Web Vitals improvements for mobile-first crawling
  • Targeted UK legal and news authority acquisition

Why the strategy worked

Rather than treating SEO as isolated page edits, the campaign aligned search intent, internal links, technical quality, evidence and authority around the pages most capable of converting qualified visitors.

The outcome

Organic visibility compounded as the site became easier for search engines to crawl, understand and trust. The result was stronger top-3 coverage and a larger flow of commercially relevant organic visits.
